Incubator calibration and servicing

Your incubator is only doing its job if the conditions inside it are actually what the display says they are. In a controlled growth or testing environment, temperature drift, CO₂ variation or humidity fluctuation can affect your results.

We provide UKAS accredited calibration and servicing for a wide range of laboratory incubators, carried out to ISO/IEC 17025. If your incubator needs a calibration and service, we can do this in one visit.

How our calibration works

Calibration is a reference check. We measure your incubator's performance against traceable standards and give you a documented record of those results.

We don't adjust or modify equipment as part of the process. Unless you've provided decision rules, we won't issue a pass or fail. What you get is an accurate picture of how your incubator is performing, which is what your auditor needs to see.

Temperature calibration is carried out under our UKAS accreditation. CO₂, O₂ and humidity calibration is carried out to national traceable standards, if you're unsure which standard your audit requires, we're happy to advise.

Do incubators need UKAS calibration?

If your incubator is used in a regulated environment or its performance directly affects your results, which in most lab settings it does, UKAS accredited calibration gives you the strongest evidence that conditions are being maintained accurately. If you're unsure what your audit requires, we're happy to talk it through.

Why do incubators need calibrating?

Incubators rely on precise control of temperature and depending on the unit, CO₂, O₂ and humidity. These parameters can change over time through normal use, wear on components and changes in ambient conditions. Calibration gives you a verified record of actual performance rather than relying on the unit's own display or controller.

Can you calibrate CO₂ and humidity incubators?

Yes — where CO₂, O₂ or RH control is fitted, we can include those parameters as part of the calibration. These parameters are calibrated to national traceable standards rather than UKAS.

If you need to confirm which standard your regulatory framework requires, we'd recommend checking before you book.

What if my results are out of tolerance?

Unless you've provided decision rules, we won't determine whether your incubator has passed or failed. That’s your call based, on your own requirements. What we'll give you is a clear, documented record of how it's performing. If you have concerns about the results, we're happy to talk them through.
