We provide UKAS accredited calibration services for university and academic research laboratories across the UK, including life sciences, biomedical and chemistry departments.
From temperature mapping of -80°C freezers and cold rooms to centrifuge, balance and incubator calibration, we help your lab meet ISO/IEC 17025 and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements, protecting the integrity of long-term studies and irreplaceable samples, with as little disruption to your research as possible.

When calibration isn't carried out regularly or you can't easily evidence it, the impact on a university or research lab can be great. It can mean:
That's why our approach is built around minimal disruption, fast turnaround on certificates and documentation that is suitable for auditors, funders or accreditation bodies.

If your freezers, cold rooms or fridges are holding material you can't afford to lose, a single reading tells you very little. What matters is knowing conditions have held steady over time. Temperature mapping is how you prove it.
We map:
Every mapping study includes a full report with graphical temperature profiles, a pass/fail assessment against your acceptance criteria and hot and cold spots clearly identified.
We use UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 calibrated, multi-point data loggers, placed in line with your protocol or industry standard, with traceable CO₂ and humidity calibration where it's needed.
Cold storage isn't the only thing that can undermine a result. A centrifuge running outside spec can throw off separation and skew downstream analysis. A balance that's drifted affects every reagent measurement built on it.
We calibrate the centrifuges, balances and general equipment your protocols depend on, to the same UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 standard, on the same visit where it makes sense.
Centrifuges: speed (RPM), timer and temperature calibration, RCF calculation, and routine servicing.
Balances and weighing scales: linearity, repeatability and eccentricity testing for analytical, precision and general-purpose balances.
General lab equipment: thermometers and temperature probes (calibrated at our head office using our calibration bath), water baths, dry block heaters, pH and conductivity meters.
Yes. We map and calibrate ULT and -80°C freezers, including cryogenic storage, alongside -20°C freezers, standard fridges, cold rooms and warm rooms.
Yes. We work around lab bookings, teaching terms and live experiments and arrange visits specifically to avoid interrupting research or teaching sessions.
Yes. Our calibration is UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accredited and carried out to support Good Laboratory Practice requirements, so it's built with your audit and funding body reviews in mind.
Yes. We run scheduled calibration programmes across departments, faculties and multi-campus research facilities, not just single labs.
